My Writing Journey

My first three books are almost ready!

Some of you know I’ve been writing a book series. I’ve always loved to write and one night—several years ago—I decided to write a book. I had nothing but a vague idea and a lot of motivation. I had no idea what I was doing, but I couldn’t stop thinking about the story in my head. The first book took me several years to complete, and even longer to edit—like I said, I had no idea what I was doing. I have learned a lot during the process, and I wrote the next two books within a year.

Publishing is a whole new adventure, one that, in the beginning, scared the living daylights out of me. Anytime I looked into publishing, I felt completely overwhelmed. The internet tells me it’s easier than ever, but there are so many conflicting “facts,” and the options are endless. I’m still absorbing as much information as I can and most of the time feel like a toddler taking a crash course in business. Each step has forced me to grow, to step out of my comfort zone, to believe in myself, and to never ever give up.  

Thank God for author groups who share valuable information, and thank you google for having my back with my bazillion questions. Thank you to my editor and all of my beta readers who are brave enough to tear my work apart. I continue to become better because of you. And thank you to everyone who has encouraged me along the way. I would never have reached this point on my own.
